Almost 1.8 million Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in Uttar Pradesh have been covered under the ambitious Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY).
The state government aims to cover all the 10 million BPL families in the state by the end of this fiscal.
The UP government has tied up with ICICI Lombard as its private partner under the scheme to provide general insurance cover to the BPL families. “The process of enrolment is underway in 40 districts of the state and soon all the 71 districts will be covered,” ICICI Lombard Head, Financial Inclusions Group, Dilip Jashnani told Business Standard.
