The Madhya Pradesh government, in partnership with GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute (GVK EMRI), on Thursday launched free 108 emergency response services and 12 ambulances, to cover the the rural and urban Bhopal.
An MoU for the services was first signed in November 2007 and ambulances fitted with life saving equipment, a call centre, and IT and network equipment were procured. Paramedics were also trained to provide emergency care. About 100 ambulances would be launched by December this year.
The ambulances are equipped with medical equipment like suction machine, oxygen cylinder, nebulisers and glucometer to handle all kinds of emergencies.
