No deaths due to swine flu occurred today but 169 new cases of the disease was reported from across the country with the maximum number being from Kerala.
The new cases were reported from Delhi (42), Tamil Nadu (20), Kerala (47), Maharashtra (35) and Uttar Pradesh (7).
Of the 169 cases reported today, two have a foreign travel history and the rest are indigenous.
Till date, 12,043 people have been afflicted with swine flu and 389 patients have succumbed to the H1N1 virus nationwide.
Maharashtra, which is one of the worst affected states in the country, has cured and discharged 3,586 patients.
Till date, 10,19,886 people were examined for swine flu and 50,193 suspected patients were put on Tamiflu treatment in the state.

After examining, 3,822 persons were found positive. Of these, 3,586 persons are cured and discharged. Two hundred and seventy two persons, including 76 positive and 196 suspected patients, are still being treated at various hospitals in the state, an official release said.
Total number of deaths due to swine flu is 160, it said.
In Jharkhand, a doctor working with SAIL today tested positive for swine flu.
Anup Kumar Bansal (45) was admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here on Thursday with complaint of high fever, hospital official said.
He is being kept on ventilator in the isolated intensive care unit (ICU), where his condition is stated to be critical, they said.
