Government of India initiated the Financial Inclusion Plan in which banks have to cover initially the villages having population over 2,000 which are unbanked for providing banking services at the door-step of villagers through brick and mortar branch, mobile branch, satellite office or business correspondents.

SLBC said that there are about 18.35 lakh farmers yet to be covered under Kisan Credit Card Scheme adding that SLBC chairman A.K. Dutt, Executive Director, Dena Bank, has requested state government to make available the list of uncovered farmers to the banks so that they can cover them under KCC fold.
