The three legislators of Haryana Pradesh Congress(T), who merged with the Congress, yesterday asked Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Chatter Singh to relocate their seats along with the Congress MLAs in the house. The letter signed by Birender Singh, Khurshid Ahmed and Satvinder Rana told the Speaker that HPCC-T has merged with the All-India Congress committee. We have decided to join the Haryana Congress Legislature Party, it said. Birender Singh welcomed the efforts of the party high command to revitalise various state units of the party, including the HPCC. He demanded white paper by the Bansi Lal government on the exemptions or slashing of sales tax from time to time by successive state government to favour certain individuals. He also condemned the Bansi Lal government for reducing sales tax from 4 per cent to 1 per cent on stainless steel sheets and ingots and chemicals used in steel industry.
