Preparing the ground for another reshuffle in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) ministry, the coalition leader Congress today did a short but significant change in its organisation.

Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs, has been made the president of the West Bengal unit of the party, while Union Minister of Water Resources Saifuddin Soz has been handed over the charge of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress.

Minister of State for Personnel and Parliamentary Affairs Suresh Pachouri is the new state president for the Madhya Pradesh Congress.

Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh's son has been made the chairman of the campaign committee of the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.

According to Congress sources, this is also a signal that a Cabinet reshuffle is imminent. A section of the Congress is indicating that veteran leader Arjun Singh may be dropped from the Cabinet for a gubernatorial post in Maharashtra. Present governor SM Krishna would return to active politics.
