At least seven militants, six of them foreigners were killed in a fierce gun battle with the army on the higher reaches of the Pir Panchal. Police said troops on specific information mounted massive searches and destroyed a militant camp in inaccessible upper reaches of Pir Panchal.
In the subsequent encounter seven militants were killed. Police said huge quantity of arms and ammunition including six AK-47 rifles were recovered from the hideout.
