Four students of the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology here have been selected by the National University, California, to present research papers on "smart tanks" and "enhancing internet-transporting smell over internet". |
At the three-day international conference scheduled to start tomorrow at San Diego, United States, Hemant Dhiman and Ashish Sukhija, students of the sixth semester of information technology, will present the research paper on "smart tanks". |
Hemant and Ashish say the paper will throw light on the technological aspects of war. |
"Our research is centred on unmanned militant tanks which can be manoeuvred from a distance. These tanks will be operated and given command with the help of computers and no solider will have to be there at the battlefield," Hemant said. |
Abhinav Dhall and Vibhor Jain, also students of the sixth semester, have prepared a research paper that brings Internet users even closer. |
"Earlier, users could only chat, talk or see pictures of those connected to them from far. However, we think in the coming days, people talking through the net will also be able to feel the fragrance of the room they are both in," Abhinav said. |
For example, if a user, while chatting via the Internet, is having coffee, the other person will get the aroma of coffee. |
