LinkedIn survey showed that professionals working in India are not only happy with their current jobs but are also optimistic about getting better opportunities with the current employer.

Survey conducted by the professional networking website revealed that 67% of the respondents in India said they were “happy” or “very happy” with their current job putting the country in the seventh place on the global scale.

LinkedIn surveyed more than 12,000 professionals globally. Professionals in the Netherlands ranked as being the happiest.

“A tough economy can make professionals appreciate facets of their job they might otherwise overlook when business is booming,” said Nicole Williams, LinkedIn’s Connection Director. “Perhaps you didn’t get the raise you wanted this year, but you are appreciative of an amazing supportive manager who keeps an eye out for opportunities that will help you grow in your career,” he said.

Survey results showed that 60% of professionals in India said they believe that if they work hard and demonstrate results, they have a good opportunity to advance in their company. India stood third in this category while professionals in Brazil ranked as being the most optimistic.

In India the top three career ambitions were to get promoted, work abroad and change industries or careers. “With the opportunities for career development increasing every day, professionals are very conscious of choosing the right workplace,” said Hari V Krishnan, country manager at LinkedIn India.
