At least nine British companies have evinced interest to invest in North-East and are presently exploring business opportunities in the region. Sectors like infrastructure, education and training, oil and gas, power, healthcare, among others, have been identified by Britain as potential areas for investment in North-East.
UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the commercial wing of the British government, today organised an 'outreach programme' in Guwahati to give an impetus to British business interests in North-East. At least nine British companies participated in the 'outreach programme', which included Arup, an independent firm of designers, Eaga Energy India, an IT company, CDE Asia, designer of customised equipments, Mace Consulting, which provides portfolio of property and construction related services, Jones Lang LaSalle, which provides infrastructure consulting services, Artevea Digital, a telecommunication company, Queen's University, HSBC and the Pearson Group.
“I am here with an array of British companies willing to do business with North-East," said Sanjay Wadvani, British Deputy High Commissioner to eastern India.
