Airports Authority of India (AAI) is planning to enter the capital market, to raise resources for funding the modernisation of about 30 airports across the country."The proposal has been cleared by the civil aviation ministry. Consultants have been appointed and the financial advisors are working on it," Ajay Prasad, civil aviation secretary, said."An estimated Rs 40,000 crore is required for the modernisation projects. The proposed equity ratio would be decided on a case-to-case basis for each airport," Prasad added.
