The Bihar government has drawn up an action plan for a blanket curb on growing extremism in southern and central parts of the state.
Official sources said the state government had sought ten companies of para-military forces from the Centre to intensify the offensive against the extremists, who have virtually unleashed a reign of terror in the state.
All the police stations in the extremist-prone areas in central and south Bihar have been asked to maintain a hawk-eyed watch on the movement of the ultras. Besides, patrolling have been intensified in the affected areas.

In view of the recurring incidence of violence, the state director general of police, S K Saxena and home secretary D P Maheshwari took stock of the law and order situation in meetings with senior police officials.
Chief Minister Laloo Prasad too held discussions with top officials to check growing incidence of violence in some parts of the state.
The on-going war of attrition between the private armies of landlords and the ultra-left outfits have taken toll of more than 64 lives during the past three months in the extremist-dominated belts of Bihar.
