oArrangements are complete for deploying adequate forces in the second and third phases of West Bengal Assembly elections, scheduled to be held on 23rd and 27th of this month, Election Commission sources said.
In the second phase election in Murshidabad, Birbhum and Nadia districts, 480 companies of central para-military forces would be deployed to guard 11,531 booths, they said.
While Murshidabad would get 198 companies of central forces, Nadia 148 companies and Birbhum 134 companies.
Murshidabad district accounts for 1,415 vulnerable booths, the highest in the second phase election, they said.
Forces have already reached the districts and were taking confidence building measures to ensure a free and fare election for the second phase.
For the third phase elections in the districts of South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas and Kolkata, 610 companies of central paramilitary forces would be deployed for 17,792 booths, the sources said.
North 24 Parganas accounts for 274 companies, South 24 Parganas 263 companies and Kolkata 73 companies, they added.
