Aerens plans big for Kerala

The Aerens Gold Souk Group has outlined a Rs 1,000 crore expansion plan for Kerala over the next five years.

The group is in the process of identifying strategic locations at Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Kollam, Kottayam, Kannur, Kozhikode and Palakkad for various residential and commercial projects, said Ashish Gupta, vice chairman and joint managing director.

Gold Souk Grandé, a large format mall spread across 500,000 sft, would soon come up at Kochi. The souk, located at Vytilla in Kochi, has anchors including Fun Republic (multiplex), Parthas, Spencer’s (hypermarket), Pantaloon, E Zone, and jewellers like Alapatt, Bhima and Malabar Gold. It is expected to be operational by next month.

The group has also been awarded Kerala’s first gem and jewellery park at Kalamassery, near here, by Kinfra. Gupta said work on park was on and it would soon house over 1,000 jewellry manufacturers from India and abroad.

Aerens is also setting up north India’s largest gem and jewellry SEZ in Gurgaon, spread across 5.5 million sft, he said.
