At the second entry at the booking office concourse a wall painting depicting tourist places like the palace with Chamundi Hills in the backdrop and the two clock towers in Mysuru greets passengers.
According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager K Anil Kumar this is the first wall painting depicting tourist places to decorate the walls of the Mysore Railway Station.

It has been completed by students of the Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA), Mysuru. Paintings of other tourism spots and places of historical importance, including several events during the rule of Maharajas of the erstwhile Wodeyar dynasty, will be there on the outer walls at the west side entry of the station building.
A couple of paintings on themes like 'Swachh Bharath Abhiyan' will also come up.
"This work of the CAVA students is expected to provide added aesthetic value to the environs at the Mysore Railway Station," he said.
In the direction of providing better amenities for passengers, Lal said the South Western Railway had installed two heavy duty reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water plant at Mysore - one near the food plaza on Platform No. 1 and the other on the island platform 2 and 3. Such facilities are also being extended to Shivamogga and Davangere stations in the next couple of days. With summer fast approaching, additional water coolers will also be provided at important stations over Mysore Division, he added.
