In an effort to promote Indian, art culture, music and fashion, the who's who of the city came together today at the 'Creative Conference' hosted at the House of Aman.
The event is in association with Goonj, a non-government organisation that takes the initiative of providing clothing and other basic amenities to millions to remote villages. The confluence saw Kathak danseuse Padmashri Kumudini Lakhia, artist Amit Ambalal, musician Nishith Mehta, sculptor Karl Antao, fashion activist Ramesh Menon, art connoisseur Jaydeep Desai, Miss Tourism World 09 Priyanka Shah, and NID alumni Anuj Sharma, Rahul Mishra, Nachiket Barve, Digvijay Singh and Deepti Toor exchange views, ideas and medium of expression as part of the day long workshop.
The efforts of the workshop will see results in a multi-media show to be held coming January in Ahmedabad where in the designers will create outfits influenced by art in various forms. The showcase will open the Ahmedabad Fashion Weekend to be held in the city in the last week of November.
Goonj volunteers are planning to create special Goonj Bags, that shall form part of the exclusive invitation to the event, where people can bring in old clothes which will be donated to the voluntary organisation to further its cause.
