Cellular service provider Airtel has cut tariffs in Delhi. Airtel subscribers can now make or receive unlimited calls by paying a flat fee of Rs 2,195 per month.
Airtel's Delhi subscribers can also receive calls from any of the its 1.8 million subscribers across the country free of charge.
Subscribers will also be able to roam in any of the Airtel networks without paying any extra charge.

Until now, subscribers had to pay a roaming charge of Rs 3 whenever they moved out of Delhi. Under the new scheme, Airtel subscribers will be able to roam in Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh, UP(west), Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu without having to pay any additional roaming charge.
The company has also launched a new plan whereby customers will pay Rs 1,495 per month and receive unlimited incoming calls for free and pay Re 1 a minute for outgoing calls. The tariffs announced by Airtel are more or less similar to that announced by the company in Mumbai and by Hutch in Delhi. The new Airtel tariffs will be applicable from August 16.
Sarvjit S Dhillon, chief executive officer of Airtel Delhi and UP (west), said: "At present, there are over 1.8 million Airtel subscribers in the country. In Delhi, a majority of new mobile subscribers opt for Airtel. The package will benefit Airtel subscribers. Our new initiatives promise huge savings for subscribers because they belong to the largest mobile family in India."
