An investment of Rs 33,000 crore is expected in the industrial township, whose foundation has been laid under the project, and it would provide employment to more than 58,000 workers, Yadav said.
For the development of the integrated industrial township, Greater Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman and DMIC Development Corporation's CEO and MD Amitabh Kant signed an agreement in the presence of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the state government had taken steps for the development of Uttar Pradesh from the very beginning.
Referring to Partnership Summit 2013 organised in Agra last year, he said that more than 1,200 domestic and foreign delegates participated in it.
Yadav added that after the summit, the state government was seriously working at different levels to create an atmosphere for investment.
He said that a letter was sent to the Centre requesting to expedite work to develop industrial areas along with eastern dedicated freight corridor.
Yadav alleged that the previous government took no steps to take DMIC project forward, whereas the SP government was making efforts to provide all possible support after coming to the power.
Expressing gratitude towards the UP government for extending help in development schemes, Union Minister Anand Sharma said the DMIC and eastern dedicated freight corridor would change the picture of the state.
He said that not only in the industrial segment, but it would also help heavily in the agriculture sector.
Sharma said it takes around 14 days for products from the state to reach the ports, but after completion of these projects it would take less than 14 hours.
After the eastern dedicated freight facility, rapid transportation of agri products would be possible and financial condition of farmers in the region would improve.
Around 12% of the DMIC area falls in UP and is proposed on 36,068 square kilo metre area in 12 districts. Two industrial zones identified in UP, spreading over 1,483 km long DMIC, include Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad investment area and Meerut-Muzaffarnagar industrial area.
