The government today said that Anand Sharma, currently a Minister of State (MoS) in the External Affairs Ministry has assumed charge as a Minister of State in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) with effect from October 18, 2008.
"Sharma will continue to hold the charge of MoS in the External Affairs ministry," an official statement said today. This moves comes as I&B minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi's health remains in critical condition.
Dasmunsi has been undergoing treatement after he suffered a heart attack earlier this month and was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
