Andhra bags five CSI awards

Andhra Pradesh will be bagging five awards in the e-governance area of the 15 to be presented by the Computer Society of India (CSI) at its 40th national annual convention in Hyderabad from November 9-12, 2005.
 
Rajiv internet-village, Jawahar Knowledge Centre, Chief Minister's Management Information System, AP Transport Department and the policy framework and e-readiness have been chosen for the awards.
 
The CSI is organising the national convention in Hyderabad after a gap of around 10 years. This year, the convention will focus on information and communication technology (ICT) for national development.
 
Parallel tracks covering education, government, industry and technology will be organised. A student programming contest with cash prizes of Rs 7,500, Rs 4,000 and Rs 2,500 for the first three winners will also be part of the convention.
 
Around 450 delegates including participants from Pakistan, Japan and Korea are expected to attend the event.
