Andhra CM to launch 'Amma Hastham' scheme today

Under the scheme, 22.5 mn white card holders in AP will be provided nine essential commodities in a package for just Rs 185 every month

Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy, will be launching 'Amma Hastham' (mother's hand) scheme on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year day, on Thursday. 

Under the scheme, 22.5 million white card holders in the state will be provided nine essential commodities in one package for just Rs 185 every month, while the total cost of these items is Rs 292.

The Rs 185-package will include 1 kg tur dal, 1 litre palm oil, 1 kg whole meal atta,  1 kg wheat, half kg sugar, 1 kg salt, quarter kg chilli powder, half kg tamarind and 100 gram turmeric powder. Quality of the products will also be maintained, according to an official press release.

The state government is already providing white card holders rice at Re 1 per kg.
