The Andhra Pradesh government has sought fresh loan assistance from the World Bank for five new projects worth Rs 15,100 crore. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday made this request with the visiting World Bank team headed by Hubert Nove Josserand, operations adviser to the bank's country operations, New Delhi.
The team is on a visit to review the progress of the six ongoing projects taken up at an outlay of Rs 11, 230 crore of which Rs 6,611 crore comes from the World Bank.
The projects proposed to the World Bank for fresh assistance include AP Power Restructuring Project (III) (Rs 750 crore), Tank Reliant Irrigated Area Development (Triad) project (Rs 10,000 crore), AP Post Flood Project (Rs 1,500 crore) AP project for support to urban SHGs (Rs 1,350 crore) and Health Systems Strengthening Project (Rs 1,500 crore).
The state had in the past received Rs 10,696 crore from the multi-lateral lending agency.
