The State Plan outlay for 2012-13 is likely to be pegged at Rs 18,000 crore, representing 20 per cent growth over Rs 15,000 crore set for 2011-12.
The total Plan size for the 12th Plan period (2012-17) is set to exceed Rs 1 lakh crore, more than three-fold jump compared to Rs 32,225 crore for the 11th Plan (2007-12).
“The overall Plan size of Orissa for the 12th Plan is set to exceed Rs 1 lakh crore with the Plan Outlay for 2012-13 likely in the range of Rs 17,000-18,000 crore. The tentative Plan ceiling for different departments for the next fiscal has been compiled and it is currently under the scrutiny of the Chief Minister. Following the approval of the Chief Minister, discussions will be held with the Planning Commission to fix the Plan outlay for the state,” a senior official with department of planning & coordination told Business Standard.
In the 11th Plan, the overall outlay stood at Rs 32,225 crore which included Rs 5,520 crore for 2007-08, Rs 7,500 crore for 2008-09, Rs 9,500 crore for 2009-10, Rs 10,000 crore for 2010-11 and Rs 15,000 crore for 2011-12.
Under the 11th Plan for the state, bulk of the sectoral outlays were for social services sector followed by special area porgrammes, irrigation and flood control and energy.
