As part of efforts to arrive at an out-of-court settlement of the vexed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, Gyandas, Mahant of Hanumaghari, today held another round of talks with Hashim Ansari, a plaintiff in the Ayodhya title suit. For the first time after the Allahabad High Court pronounced its verdict on Ayodhya title suits, Mahant Gyandas visited Hashim Ansari's Sanjhi Tola residence. He had a closed-door meeting with the 90-year-old litigant for nearly 15 minutes.
After the meeting, Mahant Gyandas said talks were heading in a positive direction. He said an agreement was being prepared but refused to divulge anything at this juncture.
Meanwhile, a case was today registered in a local court here against Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav accusing him of creating communal discord through his remarks after the Allahabad High Court's verdict on the Ayodhya title suit.
