AP announce relief to kin of officers, pilots killed in crash

The Andhra Pradesh government today announced an immediate financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each to the kin of security officers and pilots who were killed along with former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash on September 2.

After a high-level meeting, state's interim Chief Minister K Rosaiah announced that Rs 10 lakh each would be given as a immediate help to the family members of the Principal Secretary P Subrahmanyam, Chief Security officer ASC Wesley, Group Captain S K Bhatia and Co-pilot M S Reddy.

"This amount is only an immediate ex-gratia as a measure of relief as the circumstances are very special and they were serving officers to a serving Chief Minister," Rosaiah said.
      
He further said the Chief Secretary P Ramakanth Reddy has been directed to work out a comprehensive relief package including employment to the kith and kin of the bereaved officers and the package in this regard will be announced soon.
