The Andhra Pradesh government has put off the proposed global investors meet for the second consecutive time this year. The industries department, however, said the decision to cancel the event was taken in favour of the proposed partnership summit scheduled to be held next year.
The state had planned to hold an investors meet last year after a similar event hosted by the Karnataka government drew huge response.
Apart from issuing a simple GO, no follow up action was taken by the government for the good part of 2010. The political turmoil over Telangana subsequently emerged as a major distraction.
Industry body CII had even come forward to partner with the state government.
The industries department stated that the Commerce and Industry ministry had informed the chief minister that they had proposed to organise ‘Partnership Summit 2012’, a reason why it the investors meet was put off this year.
