AP embarks on plan to boost tourism

The Andhra Pradesh government has embarked on a plan to boost tourism in the state by taking up various measures including concerted efforts in mobilising private stakeholders in the industry.
 
"We are concentrating to develop adventure, heritage, pilgrimage, business and health tourism while roping in private stakeholders by offering package deals on the lines of those available in Europe and the US," state minister for tourism J Geetha Reddy told a press conference.
 
"Six special tourism areas (Stas) "� Hyderabad, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Nagarjunasagar, Vijayawada and Warangal "� have been identified for special attention," the minister said.
