According to an official release, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the industry department to study the industrial policies of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. He said the aim of the government was to create an investor-friendly climate in the state.
The chief minister, who held a meeting of industry department officials on Wednesday, said a State Investment Promotion Council and District Investment Promotion Councils would be set up to give in-principle approvals for industries. A Society for Front Office at the state and district level would be set up to receive applications.

Naidu is also stated to have suggested that industrial parks in Visakhapatnam should have a CEO to monitor and follow up approvals of the companies located in the premises of the IT park.
