Urging it to invest in a big way in the state, the Andhra Pradesh government has offered full support to the Tata group for setting up projects ranging from Titanium refinery to steel plant.

Going all out to woo the country's leading conglomerate, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah has written to Tata Sons Ltd Chairman Ratan Tata offering to allocate land, either near Visakhapatnam or in north coastal districts of Vizianagaram or Srikakulam, for a Titanium refinery.

"Raw material for the refinery is available in the region," Rosaiah has informed Tata.

The Chief Minister had an interaction with Tata on Sunday, at the inauguration of Tata Advanced Systems Ltd's helicopter cabin manufacturing facility here.

Rosaiah also urged Tata to consider expansion of his automotive projects in AP, for which "all necessary support will be provided by the government."

He recalled that the Tata Group scouted for land for locating their Nano car project near Hyderabad.

"In view of the growing automobile market in India and the increasing market share of Tata cars of various models they might be requested to invest in the automotive sector in the state, either on the outskirts of Hyderabad or any other location as per their choice," the Chief Minister's Office quoted Rosaiah as requesting Tata.

Similarly, he was informed that there is a good potential for a steel plant in the state for which suitable site could be allocated in Anantapur or Kadapa districts of Rayalaseema region.

"Since Tata steel project in Orissa is getting delayed, Andhra Pradesh might consider to allot land required for the plant either in Anantapur or Kadapa where suitable land is available with rail connectivity to Bellary iron ore mines and Krishnapatnam port," Rosaiah said.

He said that the state had earlier requested senior officials of Tata Chemicals for investments in the petroleum,

Besides, Rosaiah has said, "Contacts were also made in the past for investments in leather sector in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district where we are developing an international leather park with the assistance of Union Ministry of Commerce. We would be grateful if yours could be the anchor industry in this world-class leather processing and manufacturing cluster."
