Andhra Pradesh is contemplating a path-breaking legislation under which accountability will be fixed at different levels of government employees for their performance and a mechanism worked out to provide for rewards and punishments based on their performance.
An on-line performance tracking system was put in place in the State last year based on which the government reviews the performance of different departments Grades are awarded to each department based on this mechanism and it has a bearing on future budgetary allocation to that particular department.
