AP ups the ante for handloom product sales

The state government is in talks with several companies for marketing the state's handloom products.

Disclosing this here today, state finance minister K Rosaiah said that the government took several interim measures to support the handloom industry in the state.

"The government is aiming at improving the sales of handloom products. The products, hitherto marketed by the Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Cooperative Society (Apco), are allowed to be sold under other reputed brand names," the minister said.
