 The revenue department has mopped up Rs 1,520 crore by way of STT during the eight-month period, which indicates a collection of around Rs 200 crore every month.  The corresponding figure last year was Rs 90 crore since November was the first month for the collection of the tax in 2004-05. Collections from FBT till November are Rs 1,750 crore, while the collection from BCTT is Rs 150 crore.  Officials said the revenue department had received 750 returns under BCTT till September. Of these, 70 bank branches had been identified by the department for further verification on the transactions.
