Arjun to meet IIM brass on Tuesday

To resolve the six-month-long controvesy over the fee cut issue, Union Human Rresources Development Minister Arjun Singh has convened a meeting of the directors and chairmen of all six Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The meeting is scheduled to discuss the further course of action and resolutions taken by the ministry on this issue.

While the agenda of the meeting has not been made clear to the institutes' brass, it has been learnt that the ministry will communicate its standpoint on the decisions by the institutres to revert to the fee structure prior to the fee cut order issued on February 5 this year by former HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi.

"I will attend the meeting, while Chairman of the Board of the Institute SM Dutta will also be present," Prakash Apte, director, IIM-Bangalore said.
