Assam's industry minister Pradyut Bordoloi today told media persons that fair would be "first of its kind" in the region and the "main" objective of the fair would be to provide a platform for business opportunities and enterprise building with national and international markets. "The fair will provide a comprehensive buyer-seller platform offering business opportunities and enterprise building and also provide insight and direction to entrepreneurial aspirations," said Bordoloi.
Neighbouring countries including Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Bangladesh and Italy would participate in the fair, said RS Joshi, chairman of FINER. "The trade and industry fair will be the largest international industrial fair in Asia with over 250 exhibitors and a huge conglomeration of business visitors from North-East. The fair will also have concurrently a host of business summits and interactive session with Embassy participation from Asean, Saarc and BCIM countries," added Joshi.

Bordoloi said the trade will try to project Assam as a pivotal in south east Asia and would promote tea, bamboo and cane and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sectors of the state.
The fair would be held in Jorhat in Upper Assam and would continue from February 19 to February 25, 2015.
