Sunil Raut, brother of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, was today remanded to police custody till November 27 for allegedly masterminding the attack on the office of Marathi news channel IBN-Lokmat.
Raut has surrendered yesterday before Parkside police station in suburban Vikhroli.
On November 20, a group of alleged Shiv Sainiks ransacked the office of 'IBN-Lokmat' in suburban Mumbai and beat up the staff members, accusing the channel of running reports that showed party chief Bal Thackeray in bad light.
Raut has been booked as a main accused in this case for instigating the Sainiks.
Fourteen Shiv Sena activists, who were arrested earlier in the same case, were today remanded to judicial custody. Three others who were in the hospital are already in judicial custody.
