Auction day 7: Telcos shift focus to 1,800-MHz band; 900-MHz band price still rising in Delhi

The battle for spectrum acquisition has shifted to the 1,800-MHz band on the seventh day of the auction, with prices rising in 10 circles. However, in the 900-MHz band, telcos are still fighting for spectrum in the Delhi circle, as the price increased less than one per cent to Rs 741 crore.

The total bid value crossed Rs 58,300 crore, 53 per cent higher than the value of the entire spectrum being auctioned at reserve price (Rs 37,903 crore), according to estimates by the department of telecommunications.
