Aug crude prodn jumps 12% to 2.69 mn tonne

 The outage of ONGC's prime Bassein field due to floods in Gujarat saw India's natural gas output drop 25.1% to 1946 million cubic meters. ONGC's Bombay High offhsore gas output was down 32.9% to 866 million cubic metres.

Overall, the gas production slipped 5.9% to 8836 million cubic meters from 9394 million cubic meters in April-August 2005.
