B'lore to host national heart surgeons' conference

The Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS) will hold its 52nd annual national conference here. The four-day long meet will begin February 23. The conference, being held here after 11 years, will focus on the 'Issues in Training of a Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon'.
 
The conference, being inaugurated by chief justice of Karnataka High Court justice Cyriac Joseph, will be attended by over 800 doctors.
 
There will be a continuing medical education programme that will discuss right from the basics to the most advanced ways like stem cell therapy for treating cardiac patients, IACTS president Dr N Prabhudev said.
 
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said that the conference will provide a platform for surgeons to interact, deliberate on progress in the field, new techniques and results of various surgeries performed the previous year.
