Concerned over the slow pace of developmental activities in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna, his cabinet colleagues and senior administrative officers would visit various districts and review the progress of development projects after Diwali.
The chief minister has already sent letters to all the ministers in this regard, an official statement said.
Bahuguna said that there was no expected progress in developmental projects. “In some departments the expenditure in past seven months had been too less against fund allocated in the Budget,” the chief minister said. He said that the developmental works should be expedited as monsoon season was over now. Bahuguna laid emphasis on giving special attention to centrally funded, externally funded projects and flagship projects of the central government. He has directed the officers to complete formalities in state level so that central assistance was received well in time.
The Chief Minister directed the ministers-in-charges of the districts to review the development projects so that physical and financial acceleration could be ensured. He also stressed on ensuring quality in the works. He has directed the officers concerned to apprise him about the action carried out till November 30.
During his informal interaction with the media at Secretariat, Bahuguna said that all the ministers and senior officers had been asked to visit districts and review the development works.
He would personally review the works at Almora, Pithoragarh, Pauri and other places. When asked about the extension of tenure of Bhati Commission which is probing alleged scandals of the former BJP government, Bahuguna said that the Commission had requested for the extension. “The Commission has been asked to expedite its work,” he said.
