Bank employees criticise govt move on SLR

Opposing the government move to provide for reduction in the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) requirements by banks, the All-India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) has urged the government to reconsider its decision.
 
The adverse impact of this decision would be that banks would be tempted to sanction more loans, thereby increasing their risks, AIBEA general secretary C H Venkatachalam said.
