The German state of Bavaria, which has positioned itself as the high-tech hub of the country, is eyeing a piece of India Inc that is going global. |
To attract investments and to showcase its strengths to Indian companies, the state has lined up events to mark 'India Week', starting October 10, in its capital Munich with the help of the Bavarian State Chancellery and the Indian Consulate General with support from CII and ACMA. |
"This has been modelled as a trade fair-cum-fun festival coinciding with the Bavarian Oktoberfest and has so far attracted 70 Indian companies from IT, pharma and auto. They will showcase their capabilities while scouting for suitable matches with German companies," said John Kottayil, executive director, State of Bavaria India office. |
"The fallout could lead to the setting up of offices and capacities by the Indian companies in Germany," he added. |
Prominent companies who have confirmed participation are MphasiS BFL Limited, vMoksha Technologies and a few small and medium auto and auto-ancillary companies from north India. |
