The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today released a provisional schedule for the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 4).
The 2011 IPL season will begin on April 8, when defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in
Chennai. The 10 teams, including the two new franchises, Sahara Pune Warriors and the Kochi team, would play 74 matches at 13 venues over 51 days.
IPL Chairman Chirayu Amin said, “We are aware the state assembly elections are planned in a number of the host cities, but are consulting the authorities and will confirm the schedule soon”.
