A MoU was signed between Bengal Engineering and Science University (BESU) and Queen's University of Belfast for educational and cultural exchanges.
BESU Vice-Chancellor Nikhil Ranjan Banerjee and Vice-Chancellor of Queens University Professor Peter J Gregson signed the MoU which will allow students of the two universities to collaborate. The two institutes would jointly work for the Eastern India Centre for Water Resource and Environment for which DFID has sanctioned 60000 pounds, BESU sources said.
The MoU was signed at a special convocation where West Bengal IT minister Debesh Das was also present. Gregson and the former chairman of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce Lord Dajit Singh Rana was conferred the Doctorate of Science by BESU.
