BJP seems to be leaving no stone unturned in turning hi-tech for the election campaigning. In Gujarat, BJP is aiming to use short films highlighting various agendas of BJP to woo voters and take shots on rival Congress. This will be for the first time that BJP will be making films in-house.
Films on topics like inflation, terrorism, good governance, success of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2009 will be made by fifty hand-picked BJP youth.
The party aims to take on the rival Congress by flooding the internet and mobile phones with twenty short films. BJP will use mediums like YouTube, videomails, bluetooth and even MMS to reach out to the voter community.
"We have divided Gujarat into north, central, south and Saurashtra zones. In all we intend to make 20 films with each zone producing five. Already we have made three films and will release it at an appropriate time," Dr Shashiranjan Yadav, convenor of the BJP state IT cell told Business Standard.
One film will also show how blasts took place in Mumbai, Bangalore and other places and it was Gujarat that succeeded in catching the first terrorists after blasts in Ahmedabad.
The films will be made by BJP workers using mobile phones or camcorders and later on it will be edited using 'Movie Maker' software.
"Our IT cell will campaign using various methods including website, mass e-mail, bulk sms, Youtube, Orkut and blogging. We have about 80,000 active workers who form a chain and are active in sending out messages by phone," Yadav said.
