The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to introspect on its dwindling vote bank in Sattari taluka here in its state executive meeting on June 7.

"We have noticed that many our own voters did not vote for the party candidate during the recent Lok Sabha polls. They fell for the money tricks played by our opponents," BJP Goa Spokesman Govind Parvatkar told PTI today.

The BJP managed to retain its North Goa seat albeit with lesser margin but lost South Goa election. BJP leader Sripad Naik managed to score hat-trick from North Goa Parliamentary seat.

The party is shocked over its dwindling margin in North Goa seat, which is considered as partys bastion. Parvatkar blamed Independent legislator Vishwajeet Rane, who is also a State Health Minister, for enticing people with the money thus reducing the BJP votes in Sattari taluka.

The state executive, which will be chaired by BJP's National Deputy organizing general secretary Satish Velankar, will also analyse the Lok Sabha poll result thoroughly.

Parvatkar said that the party through its cadres will launch a drive educating people against falling for the money gimmicks during polls.

"The BJP in Goa will also begin preparing for its organisational elections slated this year. The target is to have 20 per cent more party members and also prepare for the organizational elections," he said.

BJP will elect its state chief in September, this year after holding the elections right from its booth level to the district level committees.
