The explosives that killed 31 people in Malegaon on Friday possibly contained RDX and were "identical" to the ones used in the blasts on trains in Mumbai on July 11, top police sources said here.

"The devices used in the two attacks are quite identical. The use of RDX in Malegaon is becoming evident," a top police official supervising the probe into the bombings said.

Meanwhile, police have arrested one of the two cycle-shop owners from where bicycles allegedly used in the blasts were purchased.

The forensic tests are now prompting investigators to probe the possibility of the perpetrators of the two attacks being the same persons or belonging to the same group.
