British council award for Asian Paints plant

BSC is a leading occupational health, safety and environmental organisation.

The award will be presented to the company at the Goldsmiths' Hall, London on November 28, 2003.

The award is considered as a pinnacle of achievement in safety across the world and is designed to reward the best practices in the field.

Every November the award is presented to 40 safest companies in the world. The minimum criterion is a 5 star rating during the BSC Health and Safety Management System audits, which is a minimum 92 per cent safety score.

Along with the Ankleshwar plant, Asian Paints manufacturing facilities at Patancheru in Andra Pradesh and Bhandup in Maharastra, also received the honour.

According to BSC, getting the award in the first year is creditable and more notable is the fact that all the three plants have simultaneously merited this recognition.

The Sword of Honour Award is a world class business award and not many plants in India, can comply with these high safety standards, instituted by BSC. Highly experienced auditors from UK carried out the final audits in the months of August 2003.
