Railways Budget will be presented in parliament on February 26.
It will be followed by Economic Survey on February 27 and General budget on February 28.
Pawan Kumar Bansal, the railways minister has not ruled out the passenger fare hike in the budget. However, it is widely believed that there would be no such move in the Budget.
With the railways expecting to earn additional Rs 6,600 crore in 2013-14, around half of this amount will be wiped out with the diesel hike. In 2012-13, the diesel was hiked twice ; Rs 5 for the first time and Rs 10.80 for the second time.
