Builders look at safety measures

International Institute of Security & Safety Management (IISSM) and Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India (CREDAI) will be conducting Suraksha - 2004, trends and technologies, an interactive seminar on security and fire safety in buildings.

The day long conference will be an event that will bring together users, service providers and equipment manufacturers. The seminar will also try and create awareness about usefulness of the latest equipment available in the market.

The programme will also cover private security agencies, builders and apartment owners' association, residential complexes, colonies' associations and fire safety and security equipment, system manufacturers and providers. Senior retired bureaucrats and security experts will participate in the deliberations.

The seminar will also ensure exposure to latest trends and technologies available in the market for fire safety and security equipment, and systems including building automation.

D C Nath, executive president and CEO of IISSM, said security ambience in Kolkata was extremely sensitive during the crucial rebuilding phase and the seminar could not have come at a more appropriate time.

"We are hopeful that our endeavour will go a long way to unearth the various flaws in the systems being presently employed to ensure a safer tomorrow for Kolkatans," he added.
