The Union government has convened another meeting of both the Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Thursday morning, the last day of the last session of the 14 th Lok Sabha. Sources in the Cabinet say government managers see this as the final opportunity to take policy initiatives, as the Election Commission is expected to announce the Lok Sabha election schedule by this weekend.
The Cabinet and the CCEA had both met this Monday, for over three hours, approving more than 50 proposals on a range of issues. On Thursday, the Cabinet meeting is expected to start at 9:45 am — a source says at least 20 items are on the agenda — after which, the CCEA convenes.
